Amizetta Winery and Vineyards has been on my list for quite some time. This place is always booked and now I know why! Holy **** the view from Amizetta is absolutely breathtaking. But you know what the best part is? The wines match, and are just as incredible as the view.
When the first wine you’re pouring me is a Cabernet Franc, I know we’re going to be friends. I love Cabernet Franc and appreciate when a winery knows how to make a good one – it’s hard to do with the finicky little Cab Franc grape. But let me tell you, it thrives up on Amizetta’s vineyards in Conn Valley, right at the base of Howell Mountain – where Cab Franc is living it’s best Cab Franc life.
Our host, Rosco, was the man! Great conversation, very knowledgeable about wine and passionate about his job, he added so much to our experience. Shout out to Rosco, thanks for the friendly hospitality!
We took a tour around the property and checked out the production room. Man, that thing is tiny – a true testament to just how limited production of a winery they really are. With the production room being made up of only about five fermentation tanks, Amizetta is a true boutique winery. I can imagine harvests are fun and very hands on for everyone working there!
Another thing I loved about Amizetta is the story – now I wont share everything, so that some things remain a mystery for your visit. Amizetta is a winery that is still family owned, with the whole family, kids and all, very involved. The owners, originally rice farmers from Texas, moved to Napa with a dream in tow. Built on passion and love, Amizetta is named after the founders wife. Now if that isn’t romance, I don’t know what is. If anyone wants to build a winery and name it after me, I’m 100 percent there for it.
If you want to sip amazing, small production mountain wines while overlooking one of the best views in Napa, well, this is your place!
Cheers,
Raquel
