To soak up the best views in Napa Valley, check out these wineries:
Chappellet on Pritchard Hill offers an impressive portfolio of wines, including those that are ready to enjoy now and others that are best laid down for aging. The winery tour showcases views of Lake Hennesey that are like a painting. With amazing views and high quality wine, a winery tour at Chappellet is a must!
Schweiger Vineyards, located in St. Helena, is a boutique winery. Although their production is very small, the wine is incredible. While their wine is worth the stop alone, this quaint spot features spanning vineyards from their outdoor deck. It’s a stunning place to wine taste.
“Delicious wine, mountain top views, warm smiles.” – Pride Mountain Vineyards. Every experience at this mountain winery is just that. They produce one of my favorite Merlots and Cabernet Francs in the valley. While their mountaintop views are one-of-a-kind, their cave tour leads to the best view of all. Stop by Pride Mountain vineyards to enjoy a wine tasting, cave tour, and incredible views.
Viader is a boutique, high quality vineyard on Howell Mountain– best for the days you’re feeling fancy. Here, you get what you pay for. The wines are top notch and collector-worthy. You can enjoy a private walking tour through the grounds with views overlooking Napa Valley.
I can best describe Far Niente as a fairy tale. With luscious, green gardens, and majestic architecture, visiting Far Niente feels like you’re in a dream! Better yet, it’s known as the benchmark producer of Napa Valley Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. And their Dolce– AKA Liquid Gold– is one of the best dessert wines in the valley.
Within the Rutherford AVA, Quintessa offers high-end wines, including only one red wine per year. If you’re lucky enough to taste from one of their glass vineyard rooms, the spanning views of the Vaca Mountain range and rolling hills are incredible.
Barnett Vineyards in the Spring Mountain District features views from above the clouds. You can take a tour through their wine caves to experience the most gorgeous panoramic view of Napa Valley. Be sure to try their Merlot, as it’s one of my favorites!
Horse riding and wine tasting– name a better combo. Gain the rancher’s perspective, as you ride through the vineyards on horseback. You’ll witness stunning views of Rapp Ranch Estate and the surrounding hills. If you’re not an equestrian lover, you can still experience breathtaking views from their wine tasting terrace.
With views of Lake Hennessey, Amizetta showcases a gorgeous outside seating area. While this family-owned winery has a very small production, it’s worth the taste. Their cabernet Franc is the best! With views of the valley and boutique wines, you’ll never want to leave.
Newton Vineyard, on Spring Mountain, offers an incredible tour of the wine cave with vineyard views. While the grounds might be more rural than most wineries, it’s worth the trek. I had the opportunity to gain an insider’s look at their hand-dug historic caves and it did not disappoint. Unfortunately, their winery burned down in 2020, but they’re back and better than ever!
Reverie Winery, located on the St. Helena hillside, is known for their three Bordeaux-style mountain wines. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can take an ATV to the top of the property for one of the best picture spots in the Napa Valley. This small winery might be off the beaten path, but it’s a path worth taking!
The Caves at Soda Canyon was born from the desire to “produce small production, hand crafted wines in a collaborative environment.” This winery collective features wines from several different wineries, including Lobo, Patland, Husic, and many more. Located above the Stags Leap AVA, on a clear day you can see all the way to San Francisco.
Cardinale was created with the mission to create the best, high quality Cabernet Sauvignon. And, they did not disappoint. This small production winery produces collector’s wines, including one of the best Cabernets. Although their winery is located on the valley floor, it still offers beautiful views of Oakville.
Located in Calistoga, Theorem Vineyards features impressive views and wine. Enchanting is the best way to describe this stunning winery. From breathtaking mountain views and beautiful architecture, this winery is a must visit.
With views of rolling hills and vineyards, Cuvaison resembles some wine regions of France. Enjoy views of Carneros while tasting exclusive wines, such as their Pinot and Syrah, paired with cheese and caviar. This winery is newly remodeled with plenty of outdoor seating to experience the surrounding views.
