Are you a Pinot Noir lover? You must visit Sojourn Cellars in Sonoma!
Sojourn Cellars is a quant little Pinot Noir producing house sitting in downtown Sonoma right across the street from the Sonoma Square. So convenient! However, it is appointment only, so don’t forget to make reservations before hand. The tasting room is in an old house and has two indoor farm tables for tasting. It’s very intimate (and Instagrammable), which I loved. There’s something about a seated tasting that instantly elevates the experience. Don’t you agree?
Sojourn specializes in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, however they also have some Cabernets to pour, which were lovely. But I think the real gems were the Pinots. Sojourns wines are very small production, sourcing from some of the best Sonoma AVA’s, like the Russian River and Sonoma Coast.
My personal favorites of the tasting included the Riddle Vineyard Pinot Noir and the Ridgetop Vineyard Pinot Noir, both coming from the Sonoma Coast. Wonderful aromas on the nose – I think this may be one of my favorite aspects of Pinots. They smell so dang good! The Riddle had a little bit more of a minerality and earthiness to it while the Ridgetop was a slightly “bigger” Pinot, with some more plush fruit showing through. Both of them were delicious, and lets put it this way, I’d be happy with either being poured in my glass. 😉
I’m glad I popped over to Sonoma from Napa with some girlfriends and tasted at Sojourn Cellars – I’ll most definitely be recommending this tasting experience and be bringing back friends!
Cheers,
Raquel
